Mindful Living Workshops

 

Nancy has been offering Mindful Living classes at her office in Lexington, VA since 2001. These classes are modeled after the work of Jon Kabat-Zinn. Nancy first learned the practice of mindfulness in 1995 from the staff at the University of Virginia’s Stress Reduction and Relaxation Program. Those staff members studied with Kabat-Zinn and modeled their program after his.

 

The Mindful Living classes are designed to increase each person’s ability to be in the present moment. Nancy continues to be amazed at the extent to which this ability can help with anxiety, depression, tangled relationships, and a healthy connection to self - to name just a few of the benefits of mindfulness. These classes involve learning to follow your breath, to use gentle hatha yoga to bring mindfulness to your body, and to learn and use the body scan to further your presence and awareness in the moment.

 

The Mindful Living classes Nancy offers include a 6-class series for those who are beginning to learn skills in mindfulness and monthy group practices for those who are already active students of Mindful Living.
